Root canal treatments

If tooth trauma, carious lesions (cavities) or periodontal problems (periodontal endo-lesions) lead to irreversible inflammation of the dental nerve (pulpitis) or death of the dental nerve (pulp necrosis), it may be necessary to carry out root canal treatment. A distinction is made here between the conventional method using small hand files and the more modern method using electronic preparation. The advantages of electronic preparation lie in the significantly greater comfort for the patient, as well as in the computer-assisted determination of the root length to be prepared and the more reproducible removal of diseased tissue. In addition to mechanical preparation, disinfectant rinsing solutions are used. If the tooth is asymptomatic and no longer causes pain, the cavity created by the preparation is plastically sealed. If possible, we carry out this treatment under a rubber dam, which means that the tooth is isolated from the oral cavity to prevent infection by germs in the oral flora and to make the treatment more comfortable for you.
